This site offers users convenient and easy access to a variety of documents and information related to the state's overall Quality Management System and local Quality Assurance Activities.
The Regional Quality Management (QM) System is intended to increase oversight and accountability at all levels of the child welfare services delivery system in order to improve services to children and families. Although Regions and Community Based Care agencies have assigned Quality Assurance staff to conduct ongoing reviews,
assuring quality service delivery is everyone's job.
Defining "quality" may be a challenge, but we know we've delivered quality services when the children and families we serve achieve the best possible outcomes - children are safe, living in nurturing and permanent homes, and their needs are being met and sustained.
While compliance with federal and state requirements remains critical, this system encourages and supports measuring performance with a critical eye on quality. For example, instead of checking compliance that the six-month family assessment was completed on time, a trained and certified Quality Assurance reviewer will determine if the assessment was throrough and if the assessment fully addressed the family's strengths and needs.
