|Florida Stopgap Training Curriculum
The Interim Integrated Pre-service Training Curriculum (Stopgap Curriculum) consists of the original pre-service curriculum combined with training on Florida’s new Safety Methodology. Decisions regarding the sequencing of this material were made by a group of over 20 Safety Practice Experts, Super Safety Practice Experts, Certified Trainers, and Subject Matter Experts who worked diligently for two days on this project. Final formatting was completed by the Training Consortium at the University of South Florida on behalf of the Department of Children and Families. This curriculum is intended to be used in accordance with each region's Safety Methodology implementation plan, and DCF has mandated that only those formally “deemed proficient” to train the Safety Methodology may train the Stopgap Curriculum.
On Thursday, August 1st, a Webinar led by Training Consortium trainer Pamela Aeppel was held and recorded and can be accessed on the Center website through the following link: http://centervideo.forest.usf.edu/integratedinterim/Start.html
The Stopgap Curriculum is not intended to be a final, seamless product.
Work is currently underway on a completely new Pre-Service Curriculum that will be built around the new Safety Methodology. This new curriculum is projected to be implemented early in 2014. This curriculum is just as the name implies – an Interim Stopgap “fix” to assist with the implementation process for those who need it.
