Welcome to the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Resources Navigation Page
Children placed in out-of-home care are at high risk for emotional and co-occurring substance abuse problems because of the trauma of abuse or neglect as well as the necessity of removal from their homes and separation from their families. Child welfare professionals can and should respond accordingly by integrating MH/SA services into the case planning for such children and families.
From this page you may navigate to many resources to help you work with those children, families, and adult caregivers who may benefit from mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse screening, assessent and timely quality treatment. The resources, tools and information available here will inform and guide you to best practices, procedures, research, etc. that support your work.
All selections in the navigation bar to the left lead you to the sub-pages where information and links are found.
