Annual Education Conference call for Workshop Proposals
Deadline May 1, 2019.
Florida FAPA is pleased to announce the 2019 Annual Education Conference call for Workshop Proposals. The Annual conference will host over 300 foster, adoptive, kinship caregivers and child welfare professionals June 21-23, 2019 at the beautiful Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront.
Our theme is “SUPPORT/EDUCATE/ADVOCATE.” Celebrate Diversity Month
Some of the proposals that we are looking for emphasize trauma informed care, adoption process, human trafficking, understanding the court system, importance of GAL, early childhood courts, empowering youth, recruitment & retention of foster families, kinship/relative caregivers, post adoption support, birth parent/family connections, advocacy, self-care, attachment and other behavior interventions.
- All workshops will be 90 minutes in length
- All handouts are the responsibility of the presenter.
- Presenters are responsible for providing their own laptop at the conference.
- Must provide PDF(s) of presentation/content to FloridaFAPA (for foster parents use after the conference.)
*The following will be provided in each classroom: LCD projector, projection screen.

Statewide Training: Florida’s Adoption Information & Independent Living Resource Centers Spring Training,
May 16-17, 2019, St. Petersburg, FL 33764
The Adoption Professionals track & Independent Living Professionals track will run concurrently over the dates of May 16th & 17th (a detailed agenda will be forthcoming).
The Adoption Track will cover topics related to:
- Extended Maintenance Adoption Subsidy
- Guardianship Assistance Program
- Adoption Reports
The IL Track will cover topics related to:
- Transition Planning
- Extended Foster Care
- Life Skills
